We had fun trying a few photos on our last adventure day, the 1 year anniversary of our engagement. Some of the results, were, um, not bloggable. But a few turned out ok. : ) These were taken at a beautiful California native plants botanical garden which we providentially stumbled upon.

This picture was taken after a particularly hilarious attempt at a portrait. : ) Life is so much fun with my husband!

We sat on a bench at the end of a path and enjoyed a long talk; our view was gorgeous.

The Short Story

Wednesday morning, Rebecca awoke to find an envelope on her dresser, signed by her father. It requested the honor of her presence — formally dressed. Steven was waiting, and we went first to the eau bistro in the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis for a nice breakfast, and then for a stroll around and in the Jewel Box at Forest Park.

While pretty, that area was a bit noisy. So, we went to the Missouri Botanical Gardens and headed for the Japanese garden exhibit. On our way there, we turned in at the gazebo at the Blanke Boxwood Garden a little after noon, and sat on a bench there. We had already had much discussion throughout the day of the Lord’s blessing to us through six years of friendship, a year of getting to know one another and six months of courtship. Steven asked Rebecca if she would like to spend the rest of the days the Lord gives us, together, as husband and wife. And, Rebecca said yes!
