Field day: one HF contact

Steven, supposedly a ham radio operator, made a token single HF contact (with san Diego) after two or so (full, wonderful) years of being off the HF bands.

This was done during ARRL Field Day.

This gave me a smile, happy memories of my late brother, who was a ham and quite proud of it. But only one contact? That surprised…is ham radio going the way of the buggy whip, what with all the instantaneous communications now available? Just curious. I looked at the ARRL page and the numbers there seemed smaller than I’d’ve imagined.

PS, chuckled at the careful specification that the years away were, indeed, full and wonderful. 8-)

There were plenty of people on! But I wanted to get back to my wife and house guests.

…LOL! Well, sure! 8-) Good to hear that ham is alive & well. Now, back to the ones you love! 10-4, over & out!
